Accessibility

Last updated October 17, 2026

Our commitment

My Friend's Show LLC is committed to making Krawl accessible to everyone, including people who rely on assistive technologies. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA across the Krawl web app and the iOS and Android apps that load it.

What we have done

  • Pinch-to-zoom is enabled. We do not lock viewport scaling.
  • All interactive elements have visible focus indicators when navigated by keyboard.
  • Every form input has a programmatic label or ARIA label.
  • Icon-only buttons carry ARIA labels describing their action.
  • Decorative images and icons are hidden from screen readers with aria-hidden.
  • Meaningful images include descriptive alt text.
  • Modal dialogs are marked with role="dialog", aria-modal, and labeled titles. The Escape key closes them and focus returns to the trigger element.
  • A skip-to-content link is available at the top of every page for keyboard users.
  • Each page has a single level-one heading (h1) that describes its purpose.
  • Live krawl routes and stop lists are provided as text lists wherever maps are shown, so the content is available without a visual map.

Known limitations

  • Live map: The interactive map that shows your crew's positions in real time is a visual feature powered by Apple MapKit. A text list of stops and a stop-by-stop route are available below the map on all krawl pages as an accessible alternative.
  • QR code scanner: The badge scanner feature uses a camera-based QR reader. Manual entry alternatives are available through the organizer dashboard.
  • Google Sign-In button: The "Continue with Google" button on web is rendered by Google's own Identity Services library inside a cross-origin iframe. Its accessibility is governed by Google. Apple Sign-In and email-code sign-in are always available as alternatives.

Feedback and contact

We want to hear from you. If you run into an accessibility barrier on Krawl, please email us at info@krawlapp.com with the subject line "Accessibility feedback." Include a description of the barrier and, if possible, the page or feature where you encountered it. We aim to respond within 5 business days.

Technical approach

Krawl is built with Next.js and Tailwind CSS. We use semantic HTML5 elements, ARIA attributes where needed, and test with VoiceOver on iOS and macOS. We track WCAG 2.1 Level AA as our baseline standard.
